If you’re anything at all like me, you have a tendency to start a new project or hobby and eventually it falls on the very many back burners we have. This is the place I like to call the fall back area.
I was in the middle of writing a crime case for this blog and of course I had things distract me and I started adding more to my plate then I could handle. Like the saying goes for food, my eyes are always bigger then my stomach.

So when it comes to doing things I end up multiple passions and ideas and then get distracted. I find that I have multiple talents in multiple things but then once I’ve started something I don’t ever keep up with it because I’ll find a new thing.
And of course I’ve never gone to a doctor to find out if I truly have ADHD and I’m not sure I really want to. But then again it may be beneficial if I know what’s really going on in my brain.
My research on this isn’t extensive at all but some of the most common symptoms have been listed below.
Adult ADHD symptoms may include:
Impulsiveness
Disorganization and problems prioritizing
Poor time management skills
Problems focusing on a task
Trouble multitasking
Excessive activity or restlessness
Poor planning
Low frustration tolerance
Frequent mood swings
Problems following through and completing tasks
Hot temper
Trouble coping with stress
Again, I do not know nor have I ever seen anyone to know if I do or do not have ADHD. But according to the Mayo Clinic’s site, most people have some symptoms but do not have ADHD and actually have other issues such as anxiety or depression.
Also according to their site:
While the exact cause of ADHD is not clear, research efforts continue. Factors that may be involved in the development of ADHD include:
Genetics. ADHD can run in families, and studies indicate that genes may play a role.
Environment. Certain environmental factors also may increase risk, such as lead exposure as a child.
Problems during development. Problems with the central nervous system at key moments in development may play a role
Now some of the symptoms I do have are: Disorganization and problems prioritizing, Problems focusing on a task, Impulsiveness, Disorganization and problems prioritizing, Problems following through and completing tasks, and Trouble coping with stress.
I don’t have this issues all the time or with all situations either. (This is where getting diagnosed seems like it would be beneficial.)

I’m not trying to use this as an excuse for my lack of posting. I’m actually using it as an excuse to bring myself back into focusing on my hobby. To force myself to take responsibility for letting this slip to the fall back area. To be accountable for getting lazy and distracted.
Because at the end of this, if I do ever get diagnosed and find out that stress and laziness have caused my lack of posting then at least I’m being honest enough with myself and recognizing the problem.
